Swing Bed

After a hospital stay, some patients need a little extra time and support before returning home. The Swing Bed Program at Russellville Hospital provides short-term skilled care to help patients continue their recovery in a comfortable hospital setting. This program is designed for patients who no longer need acute hospital care but still require medical supervision, rehabilitation, or assistance with daily activities before safely returning home.

Our Swing Bed unit features 10 private rooms, allowing patients to recover in a quiet, comfortable space while still having access to the full resources of the hospital. Our goal is to help patients regain strength, improve mobility, and return home safely and confidently.

Who May Benefit From Swing Bed Care?

Patients recovering from:

  • Surgery

  • Illness or infection

  • Injury or fractures

  • Stroke or neurological conditions

  • Joint replacement or orthopedic procedures

  • Hospital stays that resulted in weakness or mobility challenges

Many patients are referred to the Swing Bed Program by their physician or care team before leaving the hospital.
